Once upon a time in 1994, 25 years ago, when the Internet was still in its infancy, the first LEO Advent calendar opened its doors. We are happy to continue this tradition also this year and have filled another 24 doors with Christmas ‘goodies’ for you.
Throughout the year we have once again been overwhelmed by the support we have received from you – either by donations and contributions to our dictionaries and forums, by proposals for improvement or simply by a few kind words sent in by email. Thank you, it’s what motivates us to make LEO even better.
We hope you all have a stress-free Advent – and it would be a real treat for us if our LEO Advent Calendar can make a modest contribution in this regard.
We are thrilled to present to you the latest addition to the LEO family – our brand new English-Spanish dictionary.
After months of hard work and dedication on the parts of the technical and editorial teams, the dictionary is now ready for testing: https://beta.leo.org/ . The dictionary currently includes almost 100,000 entries and comes with its own forum as well as vocabulary trainer.
The entries in the English-Spanish dictionary (as in all other LEO dictionaries) are researched and verified by a native speaker and come with additional information such as audio pronunciations and noun/verb tables.
As always, we will be happy to receive your comments, wishes and suggestions for improvement either by e-mail or via our forums.
We hope you will find the new dictionary useful!
Yours, LEO team
PS: The English-Spanish dictionary will also be available in our apps with one of the next updates.
